Recipe for Darbari Fish
Ingredients
- Fish ½ kg
- Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Cumin powder 1 tsp
- Coriander powder 1 tsp
- All spice powder ½ tsp
- Chili powder 1 tsp
- Tomato paste 2 tbsp
- Red food color 1 – 2 drops
- Lemon juice 1 tbsp
- Water 3 – 4 tbsp
- Oil ¼ cup
- Flour ¼ cup
- Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
- Mint leaves 2 tbsp
- Carom seeds ½ tsp
Cooking Directions
Wash ½ kg fish and cut into small cubes.
In a bowl mix together ginger garlic paste, a little salt and 1 tbsp lemon juice.
Marinate fish cubes with the mixture.
In another bowl mix together 1 tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, ½ tsp all spice powder, 1 tsp chili powder, 2 tbsp tomato paste, 1 – 2 drops of red food color, ½ tsp carom seeds, 2 tbsp coriander leaves, 2 tbsp mint leaves and ¼ cup flour.
Mix very well and make into a thick paste with water as required.
Now coat the marinated fish cubes with prepared paste, now shallow fry with ¼ cup oil from both sides till golden brown and crisp.
Remove from frying pan, put in a serving platter and serve with any dip or sauce.
