Recipe for Shah Jahani Koftay
Ingredients
- 1/2 kg Meat
- 1 Egg
- 4 Almond
- 1 cup Fried onion
- 1 tsp All spice powder
- 2 tsp Chili powder
- 2 tbsp Roasted chickpea powder
- 2 tbsp Desiccated coconut
- 2 tbsp Sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp Poppy seeds
- 2 tbsp Yogurt
- Salt to taste
- Ingredients for Gravy :
- 250 gm Onion ground
- 250 gm Yogurt
- 1/2 cup Oil
- 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp All spice powder
- 2 tsp Chili powder
- 2 tsp Coriander powder
- Green chilies and coriander for garnishing
- Salt to taste
Cooking Directions
In chopper put together 1/2 kg meat and 1 cup fried onion.
Put this mixture in a bowl.
Add 1 Egg, 4 Almonds, 1 tsp All spice powder, 2 tsp Chili powder, 2 tbsp roasted chickpea powder, 2 tbsp Desiccated coconut, 2 tbsp Sesame seeds, 2 tbsp Poppy seeds, 2 tbsp Yogurt and Salt to taste.
Mix well and make small balls.
Now heat 1/2 cup oil in pan, add 1 tsp fenugreek seeds and fry well.
Now add 250 gm ground Onion and fry.
Add 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp all spice powder, 2 tsp Chili powder, 2 tsp Coriander powder and Salt to taste.
Also add 250 gm whipped Yogurt and fry well till oil comes on top.
Now add meat balls with 1/2 cup water.
Fry well again. Now add 1 glass of water, cover and cook on low flame for 30 minutes till meat balls are tender.
Garnish with Green chilies and coriander.
Serve hot.
