Recipe for Red Hot Chilli Prawns
Ingredients
- Large prawns: 300 gms
- Onion: 1 (finely chopped)
- Curry leaves: 15-20
- Chilli powder: 3/4 tsp
- Kashmiri chilli powder: 2 tsp
- Cumin powder: 1 tsp
- Vinegar: 3 tbsp
- Ajwain: 1/2 tsp (optional)
- Coriander leaves: To garnish
- Oil: 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Cooking Directions
Clean, wash and devein the prawns. Pat dry.
Marinate the prawns with the chilli powder, kashmiri chilli powder, cumin powder and vinegar for about half an hour.
Heat the oil in a pan and add the curry leaves. Fry until crisp.
Add the onion and fry until brown.
Mix in the prawns and fry for a few minutes.
Add a little water (around half a glass) cover and cook until the prawns are done.
Add the salt and ajwain. Fry the mixture until almost dry.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot as a starter.
