Recipe for Meat Puffs With Date Sauce

Ingredients

  • For Meat Puff:
  • Mince ½ kg
  • Fresh coriander 1 cup (finely chopped)
  • Salt to taste
  • Soya sauce ½ tsp
  • All purpose flour 3 tbsp
  • Egg 3
  • Spring onion 1 cup (finely chopped)
  • Green chili 4 (finely chopped)
  • White cumin powder ½ tsp
  • Corn flour 3 tbsp
  • Baking powder ¼ tsp
  • Black pepper powder to taste
  • Oil for deep frying
  • For Date Sauce:
  • Dates 250 gm
  • White cumin 1 tsp (whole)
  • Salt to taste
  • Vinegar 1 tsp
  • Tamarind 1 cup
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Jaggery ½ cup

Cooking Directions

For Meat Puff:
Beat eggs and mix 1 pinch salt and ¼ teaspoon black pepper in eggs mixture.

Then add corn flour, all purpose flour and baking powder.

Mix to form a smooth mixture and then add mince, spring onion, green chili, fresh coriander leaves, cumin, salt and soya sauce. Mix well and keep aside for 2 to 3 hours.

Before serving, drop a table spoon full of mixture in hot oil and deep fry on medium heat till golden.

Serve meat puffs with date sauce.

For Date Sauce:
Wash and remove the seed of the dates.

Soak tamarind in 1 cup hot water and then remove seeds of tamarind and extract pulp by crushing it with your hand.

Then add date, tamarind, red chili powder, salt, jaggery, vinegar and whole white cumin seed in a pan.

Cook this mixture for 2 minutes on medium heat, cool and blend.

Date sauce is ready to serve.
