Recipe for Gram Daal Tiffin
Ingredients
- Gram (chana daal) 8 oz
- Dry red chilies 2
- Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
- Black gram (whole mash) 1/2 tsp
- Green chilies 2
- Ginger a piece
- Coriander leaves a bunch
- Grated coconut 2 oz
- Coconut oil 2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Lemon juice as required
Cooking Directions
Cook the gram lentils in enough water till tender.
Pour coconut oil in a saucepan and add salt, mustard seeds, black gram and red chilies.
Chop finely the green chilies, ginger, coriander leaves, and when the mustard sputters throw these in, together with the cooked lentils.
Mix in the grated coconut and sprinkle with lemon juice to taste.
