Recipe for Lentils with Spinach (Palak Daal)
Ingredients
- Moong daal 250 gram
- Spinach 500 gram
- Stock 1 liter
- Onion 1
- Green chili 6
- Tomato 2
- Whole red chili 10
- Curry leaves 12
- Turmeric 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seed 1 tsp
- Red chili 1 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
- Lemon juice 2 tbsp
- Butter 2 tbsp
- Oil as required
- Salt to taste
Cooking Directions
Heat oil in a pan and sauté onion, cumin seed.
Add ginger garlic paste, green chili and roast for 3 to 4 minutes.
Add chopped tomato and cook till tender.
Then add lentils, stock and spinach and cook.
Then add lemon juice and cook till the gravy becomes thick.
Tarka: At the end fry curry leaves, cumin seed, red chili, and butter together and pour on lentil.
Serve hot and enjoy.
