Recipe for Balti Gosht Salan
Ingredients
- 1 lb lamb or mutton,
- cut in pieces
- 2-3 Tbsp ghee OR oil
- 1-2 med. onions chopped 1-2 teasp Garlic paste ,
- 2 teasp. Chili powder
- 3 teasp garam masala powder
- 1 Tbsp vinegar 1 teasp salt (more or less to your taste),
- 2 tomatoes chopped
- water Optional: coconut flakes,(to garnish)
Cooking Directions
In hot oil, fry onion until clear, Add garlic and chili powder, while stirring.
Then add garam masala, vinegar, salt and chopped tomatoes.
Keep stirring until the tomatoes have cooked down into the mixture.
Add the meat and enough water to either make the salan/curry thick or thin, which ever way you like it.
Cook until meat is tender. Garnish with a few coconut flakes on top. Serve with naans.
