It can only happen in Pakistan. A foreign national with all the setup abroad is coming with clamor to topple the government in his previous country. Dr. Allama Tahir ul Qadri is traveling all the way from Canada to Pakistan to start a ‘revolution’ to topple the current PML-N government and then, well nobody knows what. This is a typical agency-orchestrated political maneuver in Pakistan. This whole campaign has ‘Agency’ written all over it. For the newly minted youth of PTI this might sound arcane, but the people who have seen 90s, are well aware as what I am talking about. This is a cut-to-size operation by the ‘Holy Agency’ of Pakistan to bring Nawaz Sharif in his ‘auqat.’
This whole drama is being staged to weaken the PML-N government to get whatever establishment wants. For now there are 3 wants of the establishment:
1. Let Musharraf go, and stop pursuing cases against the retired military general.
2. Ban GEO, and open ARY.
3. Do whatever military says regarding FATA, Balochistan and India relations.
Tahir ul Qadri is just a puppet, a hired clown who is leading other touts like Chaudhrys of Gujrat, Sheikh Rashid and enjoying silent support of Imran Khan and his party. MQM would go to any length to appease the establishment, as its murderers who killed Imran Farooq are in that ‘Holy Agency’ custody. Still Nawaz Sharif is showing defiance because he knows that establishment is not in the position of toppling him. There are three reasons for that.
1. First, establishment is too engaged at different fronts to open another one in the form of running country.
2. Secondly, Nawaz still enjoys silent majority.
3. Thirdly, there is no alternate of Nawaz at this moment.
But Qadri will raise lots of hell. He will publicly challenge, humiliate and anger the PML-N government. He has unlimited funds and palpable support from the agencies. PAT leaders Khurram gundapur and Umar Riaz Abbassi have reported been briefed by the handlers himself in recent days. So nation should brace for many days, perhaps weeks of unrest and chaos. It will leave PML-N pulling their hair and will leave them eventually toothless. I believe that instead of becoming another Yousaf Raza Gilani, Nawaz Sharif should leave government by himself, and before that expose the agencies and their dirty games and come on road with his political power on street to face Qadri. This country needs such civil unrest for long run better future.
