Establishment has decided to do it again and after the Godsend Panama papers, they have found the perfect recipe to brew the storm at Pakistani political horizon. Imran Khan is already itching to come onto the roads; whereas PPP and many other opposition parties sit across the government on this chess table this time unlike the last sit-in. This time the plan is to start from Lahore and then spread in all directions including Raiwind residence of Nawaz Sharif and buildings in Islamabad and Lahore. Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief, Dr Tahirul Qadri has announced to stage a sit-in at Lahore’s Mall Road and naturally Imran Khan, PML-Q, Sheikh Raheed have announced their support and participation.

 

 

Now million dollar quandary for PML-N government is that whether they would allow him to land or to stage sit-in? They might just divert the flight or they might just arrest him on spot. This Canadian citizen has created chaos many a times in Pakistan in recent years and this would be his third time. Bad luck for the PMLN that almost the whole media is against them. Establishment is not happy with them because Nawaz Sharif has emerged as strong leader and if he stays and completes the project including CPEC; civilian regimes would be more powerful and autonomous. This is like poison for the military establishment which wants to keep their hand on the control lever. I would suggest that let Qadri come. Let him and others do whatever they want. Let them topple you or whatever. Just don’t react. Let them impose martial law and do whatever they want. It seems establishment yet again wants to repeat East Pakistan debacle.
