Recipe for Burmese Pulao
Ingredients
- For Rice:
- Rice ½ kg
- Chili powder 1 tsp
- Salt 2 tsp
- Turmeric ½ tsp
- Oil ¼ cup
- For Beef Gravy:
- Beef undercut ½ kg (cut in small pieces)
- Brown onion ½ cup
- Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
- Chili powder 1 tsp (heaped)
- Salt 1 tsp
- Coriander powder 1 tsp (heaped)
- Turmeric ½ tsp
- Yogurt ½ cup
- Oil ½ cup
- Cabbage 1 cup (thinly sliced)
- Carrot 1 (grated)
- Potato fries 1 cup (fried)
- Rice noodles ½ cup (boiled)
- Peanut ¼ cup (coarsely crushed)
- Sesame seed 1 tbsp (roasted)
- Tamarind pulp 1 tbsp
- Coriander leaves a handful (chopped)
- Mint leaves a handful (chopped)
- Green chilies 4 (chopped)
Cooking Directions
For Rice:
Heat oil fry rice; add seasoning, sufficient water to cook rice. Cover and cooked till rice done. Keep aside.
For Gravy:
Heat oil, adds brown onion, with ginger garlic paste, chili powder, salt, coriander powder, turmeric, and yogurt, fry well.
Add undercut pieces, and cook for 15 minutes tell tender. Remove from fire.
To assemble, in a serving baking dish line up foil spread rice, then beef, boil noodles, vegetables, tamarind pulp, nuts, coriander, mint leaves and chilies, rapped everything well in foil.
Bake in a pre heated oven at 180 degree C for 15 minutes.
