Recipe for Beef Pulav

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kilo Beef
  • 3 inch long ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 onion cut in half
  • 15 clove garlic (whole)
  • 1/2 tablespoon coriander seeds
  • 4 whole cardamoms
  • Salt to taste
  • Ingredients Pulav:
  • 2 cups rice
  • 1 teaspoon chopped ginger
  • 4 whole cardamoms
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 tablespoon fried onions to garnish
  • 2 chopped onions
  • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
  • 2 whole green chili
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 4 tablespoons oil

Cooking Directions

In a pan combine the whole ingredients except the salt and let it boil for 45 minutes.

Add the salt and let it boil for another 15 minutes.

Take out the meat, and strain the yakhni from the spices, garlic, ginger and onions.

Keep yakhni aside.

Method Pulav:
Fry onions until golden brown.

Add the meat, stir for 2 minutes. Add the garlic and ginger and stir well.

Add yogurt, cardamom and chili, stir for 2 minutes then add 4 cups of yakhni.

When the yakhni start boiling add the rice and lemon juice, reduce heat to minimum, cover well, let it cook till the rice is done.

Garnish with fried onions and serve.
