Recipe for Chewy Oat Biscuits
Ingredients
- Butter 50g
- Sugar 75g
- Golden syrup 1 tbsp
- Bicarbonate of soda 1/2 tsp
- Boiling water 1 tbsp
- Plain flour 75g
- Rolled oats 50g
- Dessicated coconut 30g
Cooking Directions
Preheat oven for 170 c.
Grease baking tray.
Melt the butter, golden syrup and sugar in a sauce pan over low heat.
Mix the bicarbonate of soda with the boiling water add this to the melted mixture.
Put the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl and make a well, pour the melted mixture into the well.
Mix to a moist but firm consistency.
Place spoonfuls of the mixture onto a greased baking sheet.
Leave enough room between each spoonful for the mixture to expand during baking.
Bake in preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until brown golden.
Allow the biscuit to cool on the baking tray before removing them.
