Recipe for Bari Mirchon Ka Salan
Ingredients
- German chilies 250g
- Desiccated coconut 4 tbsp
- Fennel seeds 2 tbsp
- Cumin 2 tbsp
- Whole coriander 2 tbsp
- Yogurt 1/2kg
- Red chili powder 1 tsp
- Turmeric 1/2 tsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- Onion paste 1 cup
- Tamarind paste 1 cup
- Oil 1 cup
Cooking Directions
Roast 2 tbsp fennel seeds on a griddle along with 2 tbsp whole coriander and 2 tbsp cumin.
Add the roasted spices in 1 cup tamarind paste along with 4 tbsp desiccated coconut,1 tsp red chilli powder,1/2 tsp turmeric and 1 tsp salt. Mix well.
Slit open the chillies lengthwise and fill each chilli with the tamarind mixture.
Heat 1 cup oil in a wok and fry the chopped onions until pink.
Now beat in the yoghurt and cook until the water given out by the yoghurt dries.
Add the green chilies, cover and simmer for 10 minutes
