Recipe for Palak curry
Ingredients
- Fresh spinach- (palak)- yea try to get fresh palak if possible
- Tomatoes- ½ cup finely chopped
- Green chillies-finely chopped-2
- Ginger paste- ½ spoon
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric powder- just slight
- Red chili powder- 1 tbsp
- Coriander powder- 1.5 tbsp
- Garam Masala (optional if you want)
- Mustard seeds- ½ tbsp.
- Cumin seeds- ½ tbsp. (optional)
- Oil- 2 tbsp
- Asafetida
Cooking Directions
Wash all the spinach at least thrice with water and then chop them finely.
Take a small pan and add oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and let it pop
Once the seeds pop, add asafetida and add turmeric powder
Then add ginger paste and green chilies chopped
To this add tomatoes
Then add salt, red chili powder, coriander powder and let them cook for few minutes
Again still well and add spinach leaves to it.Add garam masala and mix well and let the spinach cook
Make sure while you add salt, since spinach will have enough salt in itself.Add coriander leaves on top and serve with hot fulkas.
