Recipe for Prawn Curry
Ingredients
- 5 cups prawns / shrimps (peeled)
- 1large onion (chopped)
- 1/2 cup coconut flour
- 1tbsp grated ginger
- 2 green chilies (chopped)
- Salt to taste
- 1tsp sugar
- 2tbsp curd / plain yogurt
- 4tbsp ghee
- 11/4th cup water
- Spices :
- 5 cloves
- 5 bay leaves
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2tsp red chili powder
Cooking Directions
Heat the ghee in a large saucepan and fry the onions until golden.
Drain the onions and set aside.
Add the coconut flour, ginger, green chili to the ghee remaining in the pan, together with all spices.
Fry gently for 2-3 minutes then stir in the salt, sugar and curd. Continue cooking for few minutes then add prawns.
Cook over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring continuously.
Add the water, cover and leave to simmer foe 20-25 minutes, or until prawns are cooked fully.
Serve hot sprinkled with the hot fried onions.
