Recipe for Tomato Ketchup
Ingredients
- Tomatoes 1 kg
- Potatoes 2
- Jaggery 375 gm
- Stabilize powder 2 tbsp
- Muslin cloth as required
- Red food color as required
- Salt as required
- Water 1 glass
- Oil ¼ cup
Cooking Directions
Slightly boil 1 kg tomatoes and remove their skin. Peel & boil 2 potatoes, mash well and keep aside.
Now blend together tomatoes, mashed potatoes and water as required.
Sieve the blended mixture with a muslin cloth.
Add in 375 gm jaggery and salt to taste. Cook till jaggery is dissolved.
Add in red food color as required, cook till thickens.
Now thicken more with 2 tbsp stabilize powder. Cook till thickens.
Remove from fire, keep aside to cool.Then add a little oil, mix well. Fill in a sterilized jar and use as required.
