Recipe for Semolina Dessert Halwa
Ingredients
- Sugar 1 cup
- Zarda Colour as required
- Raisins 2-3 tbsp
- Semolina 1 cup
- Water 2 cups
- Cardamom Green Ground 1/4 tsp
- Butter 4-5 tbsp
Cooking Directions
Pan-fry semolina in a saucepan for about 4-5 minutes on medium heat.
Add sugar, cardamom and water, stirring until no lumps.
Add food coloring until lightly tinted and cook until thickens.
Add shortening/ butter and keep stirring on low heat (the butter will be absorbed by halwa completely).
Add raisins, stir and simmer until the butter separates from the semolina mixture, serve immediately.
