Recipe for Black Lentils (Kaali Masoor Daal)
Ingredients
- Black lentils 125 gm
- Chopped onion 1
- Tamarind pulp 1/4 cup
- Milk 1/4 cup
- Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- Chopped caraway seeds 1 tsp
- Red chili powder 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
- All spice powder 1/2 tsp
- Oil 1/2 cup
- Red chilies 6
- Chopped garlic 1 tsp
Cooking Directions
Soak black lentils in water for 1 hour.
Now boil them with ginger garlic paste, chopped caraway seeds, salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder and chopped onion, add water as and when required.
When lentils have cooked, add tamarind pulp and milk until thickened.
Now add all spice powder, mix, and dish out lentils.
Pour some oil in a pan, fry red chillies and chopped garlic .
Pour the sizzling chillies and garlic with oil over lentils and serve hot.
