Recipe for Moong Lentil with Spinach
Ingredients
- Split green lentils (soaked 1/2 an hour) 1 cup
- Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
- Chili powder 1/2 tsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- Chopped spinach 1 cup
- Small bunch of soya 1
- For tempering:
- Ghee or butter 4 tbsp
- Garlic cloves finely chopped 2
- Mustard seeds 1 tsp
- Green chilli slit lengthwise 2
Cooking Directions
Drain the lentils and put in a saucepan with turmeric, salt and chilli powder and enough water to boil.
When the water boils add the spinach.
Partly cover the pan, reduce the heat and let it simmer for an hour or until the lentils get tender.
Mash the lentils with a whisk and add the tempering.
Serve with chapatis or plain rice.
