Recipe for Lahsun Palak
Ingredients
- Spinach can 765g (i used 2 cans chopped spinach of 765g each) or fresh 2 kg
- Tomatoes 4 medium (sliced)
- Onions 3 medium (finely chopped)
- Ginger & garlic paste 1 tbsp
- Fresh garlic 2 whole bulbs (finely sliced)
- Cumin seeds 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds 1 & 1/2 tsp (dry roasted & crushed)
- Salt 1 tsp
- Red chili powder 1 tsp
- Turmeric 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala powder 1 tsp
- Coriander powder 1 & 1/2 tsp
- Bullet green chili 3 (sliced)
- Oil 1/2 cup
- Butter to serve with
Cooking Directions
Heat oil add cumin seeds, onions and fry on high flame till gets soft.
Now add green chili, fresh garlic, ginger & garlic paste and fry for further 2 to 3 minutes on high flame.
Add the tomatoes, spices, water 1/2 cup mix and cook on high flame till the tomatoes reduce and oil comes on surface.
Then add the spinach mix, cover and cook on low flame for 25 minutes.
Now increase the flame and dry any water remaining.
Serve hot with butter, roti and sweet cold lassi.
