Recipe for Lobia Gosht
Ingredients
- Mutton 1 kg
- Lobia 2 cups or (2 can each weight 400g)
- Onions 2 medium (grind to a paste)
- Salt 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds dry roasted & crushed 1 tbsp
- Red chili powder 1 tsp
- Crushed black pepper 2 tsp
- Turmeric 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala powder 1 tsp
- Ginger & garlic paste 2 tbsp
- Bullet green chili 3
- Yogurt 1 cup
- Tomatoes 6 medium (grind to a paste)
- Oil 1 cup
- Fresh coriander handful
Cooking Directions
Soak the lobia in water for 8 hours, then boil it in water till tender or u can use canned lobia.
Heat oil add onion, ginger & garlic paste, fry till changes colour, on high flame.
Then cumin, black pepper, red chili powder, salt, turmeric, yogurt mix well and cook on high flame till the oil comes on the surface.
Now add meat, tomatoes and cook on high flame till the oil comes on surface.
Then add water 2 glass mix, cover and cook on low to medium flame till the meat is tender and oil comes on surface.
Add the boiled lobia mix, simmer for 8 to 10 minutes, on low to medium flame.
Now add garam masala powder, coriander, green chili, simmer on low flame for 6 minutes.
Serve hot with roti or boiled rice.
