Recipe for Cabbage Roll Gravy

Ingredients

  • 1 Cabbage
  • 250 gm Chicken mince
  • 1/2 bunch Fresh coriander
  • 5-6 Sliced green chilies
  • 2-3 Spring onion
  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 2-3 tbsp Oil
  • Thread as required
  • Salt to taste
  • Ingredients for gravy:
  • 1 cup Tomato puree
  • 1/2 cup Onion paste
  • 1 tsp Ground hot spices
  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste.
  • 1 tbsp Red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2-3 tbsp Oil.
  • For garnish:
  • Fresh coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

Steam cabbage leaves for 10 minutes and boil for 1 to 2 minutes.

When leaves are tender, put aside and leave to cool.

In a pan, heat 2 to 3 tbsp oil and add 250 grams chicken mince and 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste and saute.

When mince meat is well sauteed, add salt and mix.

Then put aside and let it cool.

Add 5 to 6 green chilies, 1/2 bunch fresh coriander and 2 to 3 spring onions and mix.

Form pockets of cabbage, fill in the mix and tie thread around it.

Method for gravy:
In a pan, heat 2 to 3 tbsp oil and add 1/2 cup onion paste and 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste and saute until the mix is brown in color.

Then add 1 cup tomato puree, 1 tbsp red chili powder, 1 tsp ground hot spices, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and salt to taste and cook till the mix is ready.

Add cabbage pockets and water to requirement and put on dam for 10 to 15 minutes.

Garnish with fresh coriander and serve.
