Recipe for Daal palak
Ingredients
- 2 bunches Spinach (palak) (Chopped)
- 1/2 cup Moong Dhuli daal ( washed green gram split)
- 1 Medium Onion (Finely chopped)
- 2-3 cloves Garlic (Finely chopped)
- 2-3 Green chilies (Finely chopped)
- 1/2 " Ginger (Finely chopped)
- 3 Medium Tomatoes (Finely chopped)
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 tablespoon Coriander seed powder
- 1 tablespoon Oil
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
Cooking Directions
Wash daal or washed green gram split and spinach and cook in pressure cooker with 1/2 cup of water and salt up to two whistle.
Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds when it starts crackling, add garlic and saute until golden brown add onions, mix well and roast until golden brown.
Add chopped tomatoes,green chilies and ginger, Mix well ,add salt and spices, mix again and cook until oil separates from tomatoes mixture.
Add cooked spinach and green gram (daal) and bring it to boil. turn off the heat.
Serve hot with roti, paratha or rice.
