Recipe for Ghota Saag
Ingredients
- Spinach 250g
- Saag 250g
- Dry fenugreek as required
- Ginger garlic paste 3tbsp
- Onions 1
- Green chilies 3-4
- Crushed red chilies 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder 1 tsp
- Crushed black pepper 1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
- All spice powder 1/2 tsp
- Butter 4-5 tbsp
- Oil 3-4 tbsp
- Salt as required
Cooking Directions
In a deep skillet add the saag, spinach, dried or fresh fenugreek, 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste, green chilies, chopped onions and water as required.
Cook until the water dries and the greens are soft.
Pound to a paste with a wooden mathni or ravai, while it is being cooked.
Heat 3-4 tbsp of oil in a pan along with 4-5 tbsp of butter.
Add the remaining ginger garlic paste and saute for a few minutes
Add 1 tbsp red chili crushed, 1 tsp turmeric, black pepper, cumin powder, all spice powder and salt
Cook for a few minutes and pour over the saag.
The delicious ghota saag is ready to serve.
