Recipe for Lemon Tart
Ingredients
- Pastry dough
- Fine flour (maida) 200g
- Castor sugar 3 tbsp
- Butter 100g
- Egg 1
- Lemon curd:
- Eggs 4
- Butter (small pack) 100g
- 2 Lemon''s juice
- Sugar 6 oz
Cooking Directions
To Make Pastry Dough:
Put the butter at room temperature for a while so it softens.
Add plain flour in a bowl, add butter in it.
Mix them well with hands, so they assume crumb shape.
Now, beat an egg.
Add the egg slowly in the egg-butter mix so it gives them enough coherence.
Do not make the dough liquidy or runny.
Now wrap it in plastic foil & keep in fridge for 30 minutes.
After that, take a tart pan, spread the dough in it.
Prick the dough with a fork in the center.
And press firmly the sides of the dough with the fork.
Now bake the dough for 20 minutes at 180 degrees.
To Make Lemon Curd:
Add all eggs in a pan & beat them well.
Add lemon juice, sugar & butter in the above pan.
Turn the flame on, & cook on slow heat.
Keep stirring to make sure lumps don''t form.
Pour it on the baked pastry, spread evenly.
Place a lemon slice in middle and on top of it place a cherry.
