Recipe for Semiya Paayasam Or Seviyan kheer
Ingredients
- Vermicelli- 75 gms
- Milk- 250 ml
- Sweetened condensed milk- 200-250 gms
- Chopped cashewnuts, almonds, pista- 1/4 cup
- Clarified butter/ghee- 2 tablespoons
- Cardamom- 3 (powdered or crushed)
- Salt a pinch (optional)
Cooking Directions
Heat the ghee in a pan. Toast the cashewnuts, almonds and pistachios till golden brown.
Drain and keep aside.
In the remaining ghee toast the vermicelli till it changes colour to golden brown.
Add the milk into it cook till the vermicelli is done. Add the milkmaid and mix well.
When it starts to boil, add the crushed cardamom and give a stir. If using salt, add it at the end and give a stir.
Switch off heat.
Garnish with the toasted nuts.
Serve it warm or cold.
