Recipe for Cheese & Meat Fried Pastries
Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- Pinch of salt
- 5 tablespoons heavy cream
- Pinch of sugar
- Ingredients for cheese mix- 1 egg
- 5 tablespoons feta cheese (with less salt)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoon dried mint
- For the meat filling use the same filling for Kebbeh
Cooking Directions
Mix flour with salt and sugar. Add the cream, knead until dough is smooth, set aside for 15 min.
Mix cheese with olive oil and mint, set aside.
Prepare the meat filling and set aside.
Lightly dust your working surface, and roll the dough to a thickness of bit less than ¼ inch.
Make round shapes of the rolled dough.
Fill some with cheese and the others with meat. Close to make half circle, press the edge with the fork to seal it tight.
Fry the pastries in preheated oil and reduce the heat to medium. Fry until golden.
Serve while warm.
