Recipe for Mixed Pastries
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup powder milk
- 1/2 tablespoon dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup flour (might need a bit more)**
Cooking Directions
Mix water, yeast, and sugar very well. Keep aside for 10 minutes in a warm place.
In another bowl mix flour, milk powder, salt, and baking powder.
Pour the yeast mixture on the flour and knead. Add oil and keep on kneading.
When dough feels as soft as an earlobe then it’s ready. Cover it and leave it to rise in a warm place.
Punch the dough and roll it on a clean surface sprinkled with flour.
Get creative. Form the dough in any shape you like and stuff it with cheese, or sausage, or spinach, or chocolate, or nuts; the choice is yours.
Brush the baking pan with a bit of oil or butter, then place your artwork on it. Place the baking pan in a preheated oven for 5 minutes.
Take the backing pan out and brush the surface of the pastries with egg yolk and milk.
Return it in the oven and let it cook for another 10 to 15 minutes.
