Recipe for Chole
Ingredients
- Chic peas(kabuli chana) :- 1 cup
- Onions :- 2
- Vegetable fat(ghee) :- 3 tblsp
- Tomatoes :- 2
- Potatoes :- 2
- Dry mango powder(amchur) :- 1 tblsp
- Coriander cumin powder :- 2tblsp
- Soda bicarbonate :- ½ tsp
- Garam masala powder :- 1 tblsp
- Red chilli powder :- 2 tblsp
- Paper powder :- ½ tsp
- Salt : – as per taste
- For garnishing:
- Tomatoes :- 2
- Ginger :- 1
- Chopped coriander leaves :- 2 tblsp
Cooking Directions
First soak the chana at least 6 hours and drain it.
Cut the onions and chop the potatoes in squares.
Wash and cut two tomatoes and make slices of the remaining.
Peel the ginger and make juliennes of it.
Wash and cut the green chilies.
Add in water and half tsp soda bicarbonate to the chana and stir fry in the pressure cooker.
Chanas should not get mashed.
Heat the ghee in a pot and fry potatoes till it is soft.
Also put onions and fry till pink color.
Add dhania jeera powder and red chilly powder and fry again.
Mix it in boiled chanas and salt.
Mix in the garam masala powder, amchur powder,and black pepper powder after 5 minutes and stir fry 2 minutes.
Add in the potatoes and tomatoes and stir fry again for another 2 minutes.
Garnish with cut coriander leaves, slices of tomatoes, slit green chilies and ginger juliennes.
