Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Saturday formally took charge of Federal Interior Ministry. Talking to media after taking charge of ‘hot-seat’, Ch. Nisar said that he would not be a show-off minister but his performance would prove the sincerity. He said law and order is provincial subject, however his ministry would provide every possible assistance including intelligence information and man-power to provincial governments for maintaining law and order situation.
Nisar said his ministry would help PTI government in KP to overcome terrorism and to restore peace in the troubled province. Interior minister said he would not appear on TV channels to interfere into each and every issue rather he would focus on his performance. Nisar vowed to make Islamabad a modal district saying that a special meeting would be called on Monday in this regard.
Later on, Nisar Ali Khan called on Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif at PM house to discuss issues under his ministry. Both leaders discussed the agenda and priorities of the ministry of interior under the present government, state media reported. The Federal Minister said that the ministry would continue to cooperate with all provincial governments and provide them all possible assistance in the maintenance of law and order situation.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that officers of proven integrity and competence would be appointed in the Ministry of Interior and they would be expected to uphold merit and deliver. The Minister informed the Prime Minister that a detailed presentation would be made to him on the Ministry of Interior shortly to seek his guidance. The Prime Minister expressed the hope that effective measures will be taken by the Ministry of Interior so that the people can feel the change for themselves.
