India, Pakistan Bullets Cannot Bring Peace

(added few years ago!)
A new round of firing at LoC started just recently when Pakistanis were celebrating the festivity of Eid. In last four days, almost 13 people were killed and local household is damaged. The tyranny reached to a level when nearly 20, 000 people fled from their places due to continued aggression. This exceeding aggression raises many questions. Come what may, Indian uncontrolled aggression is obviously permitted by Modi which does highlight certain important strategic points. With Modi as Prime Minister, Indian aggression has increased which clearly shows the mindset of Modi being a religious extremist. Looking at the backdrop of Modi, we see Modi does dislike Muslims; Babri Masjid and Muslim killings in Gujarat as self-sufficient examples to quote. Recent violations have crossed a limit and as per news sources, Modi has given free hand to its Army. What is mainly assumed is that these are the pressure tactics which India is employing against Pakistan. Strategically, Pakistan’s location is turbulent and critical. At western borders, we have a volatile neighbor where foreign forces are sitting, trying to culminate terrorism, which Pakistan has been a part of since long.

India, Pakistan Bullets Cannot Bring Peace

Our western provinces are very victim of terrorism and separatist movements, assuming as part of vested foreign interests. On Eastern borders, we have a traditional rival with whom our policy changes with every passing minute. What haunts Pakistan is the presence of India in Afghanistan along with timely confrontation we face from India periodically. And obviously, the recent development in Afghanistan further ensures Indian presence as now India is much closer to US. Current political diaspora in Pakistan has strongly challenged the writ of government. Issues like terrorism, growing separatist sentiments, internal displacement and public rage overall are fueling the resenting sentiments. And all of a sudden from a neighbor to whom we send crates of mangoes starts firing on us jolt us from within. Pak Army and Rangers are reciprocating the Indian aggression, stamping hard the thought that we can fight which they surely do. But what is lacking is the political back they must receive, for moral boosting and encouragement sakes.
Since the last four days, we saw tickers and news flashes of constant ceasefire violations but none of political value condemned or uttered a single statement.

This created a window of opportunity for Indians to make three out of one. First, they got the political back, and then they got a hyped media which surely helped the, grabbing sympathies. What we did, we ignored the situation like routine, putting up the entire burden on security forces to handle the situation. And unfortunately, Pakistan does not hold a good example to quote of Civil-military of being on single page. So finally after getting a dozen killed and thousand houses destroyed, Pakistan made a careful request to give peace a chance which India responded with more aggressive approach. The same old sentences were repeated for revival of peace which is unlikely. Now the point is not to say that lack of political back means civil-military are not on same page. But it does give a chance to other party to keep you reminding of your tormenting past. What’s needed: Indian aggression has got a start with Modi in office once again. LoC firing is just a wake up. India is sitting in Afghanistan and wants to pressurize us from both sides on which Pakistan will never be comfortable. Having volatile borders and negative titles to carry, Pakistan has to walk with a clear feet. If India wants to fight then Pakistan would surely give a proper response but that’s not what Pakistan wants. And the global community must not forget their part being the custodians of peace. Recording protests through statements could communicate our message only otherwise others will use the opportunity of speaking for themselves. We bear similar situation before but now it’s time to make world believe in our stance, by speaking on time.
