As the name suggests they are formed by the skin stretching and over time losing its elastic qualities. This loss of elasticity is cause by damage to the dermal layer of the skin. This central part of the skin wall is stretched most when a woman is pregnant because the growth is so rapid, but stretch marks are a problem that people of both sexes suffer from.

Well it’s helpful to know that Aloe Vera is packed full of vitamins and minerals which on their own is good for you. Of course there are lots of things that are good for you and rubbing them on your skin will often be of no benefit. The reason Aloe Vera is good for stretch marks is that it contains plant collagen which can nourish the skin by penetrating deep in to the affected areas.
 
How to Use Aloe Vera?
The good thing about using Aloe Vera is that you only have to apply the cream around once a day. The best time for this to happen is in the morning when you wake up. The moisturizing qualities of Aloe Vera means that the cream is cold and wet going on but it is not on the surface for long as the skin soaks it up and it is carried it to the problem layer.
 
How Long before My Stretch Marks are Gone?
This really does vary on the severity of the stretch marks that you are treating. As with all things, prevention is much better than treatment. If you apply Aloe Vera to areas that are experiencing Stretching then you will stop a lot of the damage from becoming noticeable. If however you are trying to repair damage that has been caused over years then you could find that you have to apply the cream for months.
 
Are there Any Side Effects to Using Aloe Vera?
In the vast majority of cases there is never any problem with using Aloe Vera as a skin treatment. This is because it is really a natural product and often contains no chemicals in the skin cream. There are occasions though where a person may be allergic to the plant that the Aloe Vera is harvested from. On very rare occasions, itchiness of the area where the cream has been applied but as it contains lots of immune boosting qualities even these can be short term side effects.
 
If I’m Allergic to One Cream, Will I Be Allergic to Them All?
Not necessarily because there are over 240 types of Aloe Vera that come from continents all over the world. Being allergic to one plant or one set of plant derivatives doesn’t mean that you are automatically going to be allergic to the others.
