Recipe for Kofta Karahi

Ingredients

  • For Kofta:
  • Mutton mince 1kg
  • Bread slices 2
  • Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander seeds 3 tbsp (dry roasted & crushed)
  • Gram flour 4 tbsp (dry roasted)
  • Yogurt 4 tbsp
  • Seekh kabab masala powder 4 tbsp (ready made)
  • Green chili 5 (crushed)
  • Eggs 2
  • Ginger & garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • For Curry:
  • Tomatoes 1 kg
  • Dry fenugreek leaves 1 tbsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 2 tsp (dry roasted & crushed)
  • Crushed red chili 1 tbsp
  • Crushed black pepper 1 & 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger & garlic paste 3 tbsp
  • Bullet green chili 8
  • Oil 1 cup

Cooking Directions

To make kofta:
Add all ingredients under kofta and grind till smooth.

Grease your hands slightly and make kofta, keep aside.

Heat oil and deep fry the kofta till golden, keep aside.

Take each tomato and put cuts at the bottom, it will help to remove skin.

Now heat oil and add the whole tomatoes, cover and steam them for 10 minutes on medium flame, till the skin it about to come off.

Then take the tomatoes out and remove skin as shown in the video.

Heat the oil add the tomatoes again, ginger & garlic paste, dry roasted cumin, crushed red chili, crushed black pepper, salt and cook it till the tomatoes reduce, on high flame.

Then add fried kofta, dry fenugreek leaves, bullet green chili mix, cover and simmer on low flame for 10 to 12 minutes.

Serve hot with Roti, Naan.
