Recipe for Beef Mongolian

Ingredients

  • Beef ¼ kg
  • Carrot 1
  • Onion 1
  • Mushrooms 2
  • Eggs 1 – 2
  • Dried red chilies 3 – 5
  • Corns 3 – 5
  • Stock 1 cup
  • Soya sauce ¼ cup
  • Tomatoes ½ cup
  • Spring onions ½ (sliced)
  • Brown sugar 1 tsp
  • Garlic ½ tsp (sliced)
  • Ginger ½ tsp (sliced)
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Corn flour as required
  • Salt, black pepper to taste

Cooking Directions

In a bowl, add beef, salt, black pepper, 1 tsp soya sauce and set aside to marinate.

Slice corns, mushrooms, carrot, onions in dice shape and cubes.

In a wok, add oil and heat on high flame.

Add chopped garlic and chopped ginger and stir briefly.

Add marinated beef slices and stir till meat begins to change color.

Now add remaining soya sauce, sliced corns and mushrooms, diced carrots, onions, chopped tomatoes and a sliced red chili.

Stir for a couple of minutes and then add chicken stock.

Let it cook until it reaches boiling point.

When the mixture comes to a boil, add corn flour dissolved in water and mix till it is well combined with the sauce.

Add a roughly beaten egg to the gravy and mix briefly.

Take off the flame and serve with steamed rice or sauce of your choice.
