Recipe for Punjabi Palak Gosht
Ingredients
- Mutton 1 kg
- Spinach 200 gm
- Ginger 1 piece
- Garlic 2 – 3 cloves
- Green chili 2 – 3
- Onion 2
- Tomato 2
- Yogurt ½ cup
- Cumin powder 1 tsp
- Cinnamon stick 1 – 2
- Cardamom 2 – 4
- Clove 2 – 3
- Tomato paste ½ cup
- Butter as required
- Oil ¼ cup
- Salt to taste
Cooking Directions
Take a blender jug, put ginger garlic and green chili and make paste.
Now add yogurt and coriander powder and mix it well.
Now marinate meat in this batter for 1 hour.
Now put salt and spinach in hot boiled water and after 1 – 2 minutes when bubbles starting to come, take it out and dry it and chop it to put it on a side.
Lower the flame and add onions and cook for 15 minutes.
After that, add coriander powder, cumin powder and water.
Now put meat with batter and cook till it absorbs all yogurts.
Now add tomato and cook for few minutes.
Now add 1 cup water and salt and cover it to simmer on low flame.
When meat tender add spinach and cook for 4 – 5 minutes.
Dish it out and garnish it with butter and serve.
