Recipe for Karahi Butter Chicken
Ingredients
- Chicken ½ kg
- Yogurt 1 cup
- Red chili powder 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves 2-3
- Cloves 3-4
- Cinnamon 2-3 sticks
- All spice powder 1 tsp
- Small cardamom 3-4
- Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
- Tomatoes 3-4
- Onion 2
- Green coriander 5-6
- Cream 4 tbsp
- Butter ½ cup
- Oil 2-3 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Cooking Directions
In a mixing bowl combine together 1 cup yogurt, 3-4 small cardamos, 1 tsp all spice powder, 1 tbsp red chili powder, 2-3 curry leaves, 3-4 cloves, 2-3 cinnamon sticks, 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste, 3-4 chopped tomatoes and salt as required.
Blend together the above mixture and use it to marinate the chicken.
Heat 2-3 tbsp oil in a wok and melt ½ cup butter.
Fry 1 chopped onion until translucent.
Add the chicken along with marinade and cook until the chicken is tender.
Sprinkle chopped coriander and green chilies on top.
Mix 4 tbsp cream and add ½ cup butter.
Sprinkle chopped coriander and serve
