Recipe for Masala Batair

Ingredients

  • Quails 6
  • Yogurt 125 gm
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Chili powder 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • Nutmeg mace powder ½ tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Onion chopped 1
  • Tomatoes boiled 2
  • Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
  • Oil 3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

Blend together 125 gm yogurt, 1 onion, 2 boiled chopped tomatoes, 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp all spice powder, ½ tsp nutmeg mace powder, 2 tbsp coriander leaves and salt to taste.

Heat 3 tbsp oil in a wok, add 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste and saute for a few seconds, then add in quails and fry for 3 – 4 minutes.

Now add yogurt paste and mix very well. Cover and cook for 3 – 4 minutes.

Remove lid, turn the flame high, fry very well till water is evaporated.

Now dish it out and serve with boiled rice or roti.
