Recipe for Cheese Nan
Ingredients
- 250 grams of All-Purpose Flour (Maida)
- 3 tbsp. of Margarine
- Salt (to taste)
- 1 tsp. of Instant Yeast
- ¼ tsp. Baking Powder
- Grated Cheese (any of your choice)
- Whole Milk (as needed for kneading dough)
- Water (as needed for kneading dough)
- Clarified Butter (Ghee) or Cooking Oil (as needed)
Cooking Directions
In a large bowl combine the flour, salt, yeast, baking powder, and margarine.
Mix all ingredients together well. Prepare the dough by kneading this with ½ water and ½ milk.
Divide the dough into small equal portions for each individual nans by making balls of each portion.
Take a ball of dough and roll out the portion of the dough into a flat chapati.
Sprinkle grated cheese on top and fold in to half then bake in a moderate pre-heated oven until it has well risen.
Stir fry in clarified butter or oil until it becomes golden.
