Recipe for MASOOR RICE
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp ghee
- 1 bay leaf (teh patta)
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 whole dry red kashmiri chilies
- 2 piece of cinnamon
- 2 cardamon (elaichi)
- 4 cloves
- 1 chopped onion
- 1/2 tsp chopped garlic
- 1 tbsp ginger-chili paste
- 3 tbsp masoor dal
- 2 tbsp peas
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp garam masala
- salt to taste
- 1 bowl rice
Cooking Directions
Boil masoor dal, peas & rice separately. Heat the ghee in a pan.
Add bay leaf, cumin seeds, red chilies, cloves, cinnamon & elaichi.
Add onion, garlic, ginger-chili paste & saute until onions turns golden.
Add turmeric, garam masala, salt, masoor dal, peas & mix properly.
Add rice & mix properly, cook for 2-3 minutes.
Garnish with coriander & serve hot with vegetable raita.
