Recipe for Cashewnut Pakoras
Ingredients
- Cashewnuts 1 lb
- Oil 1/4 pint
- Gram flour (besan) 1 lb
- Curry leaf 1 sprig
- Ghee
- Turmeric powder 1 tsp
- Chilli powder 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
Cooking Directions
Mix the chili powder, salt and turmeric into the flour.
Heat the oil and when it smokes, pour into the flour and mix well.
Add chopped nuts and curry it smokes, pour into the flour and mix well.
Add chopped nuts and curry leaves and mix.
Heat ghee in a kerai or frying-pan for deep-frying.
Prepare small balls from the flour mixture and fry in hot ghee to a golden brown.
Serve hot or cold. They will keep for a week.
