Recipe for Crispy MEAT SHAWARMA Eid ul Adha
Ingredients
- 1kg lean beef (julienne)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- ½ white onion (minced)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground sumac
- 1 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1/8 cup white vinegar
- 1/8 cup lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons fresh coriander (chopped)
Cooking Directions
Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and put in the fridge to marinate for a minimum of 1 hour and a maximum of overnight
Drain and discard any excess marinade Heat an oven broiler to high
Spread the meat evenly in a single layer on an ovenproof pan
Set 4-6 inches under the broiler flame and broil until cooked through
Stir halfway through to cook evenly Mix with fresh coriander
Serve inside your favourite bread with your choice of garnishes
