Recipe for CHICKEN JALFREZI

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 750 grams Chicken thigh fillets (trimmed)
  • 1 Green capsicum (sliced)
  • 1 Onion (large & sliced)
  • 1 Red capsicum (sliced)
  • 2 Garlic cloves (chopped)
  • 1 Green chili (chopped)
  • 1 tsp Ground cumin seeds
  • 2 tsps Ginger (chopped)
  • 2 tsps Grated coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp Garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Haldi powder
  • 1/2 tsp Coriande powder
  • 4-5 Tomatoes (mashed)
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • as required Coriander & green chilies

Cooking Directions

Heat ghee in a medium sized frying pan.Put chicken and cook until browned on each side. Remove and set aside.

Add onion and cook over low heat until soft and golden. Add capsicums and cook for 5 minutes.

Now put ginger,garlic and chili. Cook for forty seconds. Add cumin, coriander and curry paste.

Add tomatoes and water and cook for 5 minutes. Return chicken to the pan and season with salt.

Cook, stirring for couple of minutes, until chicken cooks through.

Serve, garnished with coriander and chili, with fresh buns or rice.
