Recipe for Cashew Nut Pakora
Ingredients
- 1 cup cashew nuts
- 1 cup besan (chickpea flour/bengal gram flour)
- 1tsp red chilli powder
- 2tsp ajwain
- salt
- a pinch of soda
- oil for frying
- 1tbsp ghee
- ½ cup water
Cooking Directions
Heat ghee in a pan. Roast the cashew nuts until they turn a little brown. Keep aside.
In a bowl, mix besan, salt, red chilli powder, ajwain and soda. Add water and stir constantly to avoid getting lumps.
Make a semi-thick batter for pakoras.
Now add the roasted cashews in the batter and mix well.
Heat oil in a frying pan. Make small pakoras with the batter and deep fry. Strain in a paper towel.
Cashew nut pakora is ready to eat. Serve it hot with tomato ketchup or coriander chutney.
