Recipe for Soya Vegetable Burgers

Ingredients

  • Soya Granules 1 cup
  • Skimmed Milk 2 1/2 cups
  • Potatoes(boiled & mashed) 4-5
  • Onion(finely Chopped) 1 medium
  • Green Chillies(Chopped) 2
  • Coriander Leaves(Chopped) 2 tbsp
  • Cumin Powder 1/4 tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder 1 tsp
  • Clove Powder 1/4 tsp
  • Cinnaom Powder 1/4 tsp
  • Lemon Juice 1 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Brown Breadcrumbs 3/4 cup
  • To Serve:
  • Burger Buns 4
  • Mustard Paste 4 tbsp
  • Tomato Ketchup 4 tbsp
  • Lettuce Leaves 10-12
  • Onion(sliced into rings) 1 medium

Cooking Directions

Soak soya granules in two cups of milk for fifteen minutes.

Drain and squeeze out excess milk.

Grind to mince the granules further.

In a large mixing bowl, mix together soya granules, mashed potatoes, onion, green chillies, coriander leaves, cumin powder, red chilli powder, clove powder, cinnamon powder, lemon juice and salt.

Divide the mixture into four equal portions.

Shape each portion into a patty of three inches diameter and about half an inch thick.

Coat each patty evenly with breadcrumbs.

Heat a non-stick pan and cook the patties on both sedes till crisp.

Halve a burger bun horizontally.

Apply mustard paste on the lower half and tomato ketchup on the top half.

Place two or three lettuce leaves on the lower half.

Place the patty on it, top with onion rings, cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
