Recipe for Sizzling Shezwan Beef
Ingredients
- Beef (undercut) (cut into strips) 1/2 kg
- Oil 1/4 cup
- Garlic (coarsely chopped) 1 tsp
- Chinese salt 1, 1/2 tsp
- White pepper 1/2 tsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- Sugar 1/4 tsp
- Carrots (julienne) 1 cup
- Cabbage (thinly cut) 1, 1/2 cup
- Spring onions (cut into 1" pieces) 1/2 cup
- Ginger (julienne) 1 tbsp
- Capsicum (julienne) 1
- Ketchup 1/2 cup
- Stock 1 cup
- Chili sauce 1 tbsp
- Corn flour 1 tsp heaped (dissolved in 1 tbsp water)
Cooking Directions
Heat oil in a wok and add garlic and ginger and fry.
Then add beef and stir briskly for about 5 minutes.
Keep stirring.
Add in vegetables, seasoning and stock.
Cook for another 5 minutes.
Add cornflour paste and cook till gravy thickens.
Serve sizzling hot with fried rice.
