Recipe for Machchi ki Tikki (Fish Tikki Kabab)
Ingredients
- Rohu fish, mashed 1/2 kg
- Bread slices 2
- Cumin seeds (jeera) 2 tsp / 10 gm
- Black peppercorns (sabut kali mirch),
- ground 1 tsp / 5 gm
- Onions, large, finely chopped 2
- Green chillies, finely chopped 4-5
- Dry fenugreek leaves (kasoori methi) 2 tbsp / 30 gm
- Salt to taste
- Egg, beaten 1
- Breadcrumbs 7 tbsp / 105 gm
- Oil to fry
Cooking Directions
Boil the fish in very little water.
Debone the flesh.
Soak the bread in water and squeeze dry.
Add all the ingredients (up to the salt) to the mashed fish and mix well.
Shape into desired size cutlets.
Dip the cutlets in egg, then coat well with breadcrumbs and shallow fry.
Serve hot with Dhaniya ki chutney.
