Recipe for Minced Lamb with Coriander
Ingredients
- Mince meat 350 gm
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Cinnamon stick 1
- Bay leaf 1
- Chopped Onions 150 gm
- Green Cardamoms 2
- Ginger Paste 1 tsp
- Green Chilli chopped 1
- Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
- Cumin Powder 1/2 tsp
- Coriander Powder 1/2 tsp
- All spice powder 1/2 tsp
- Tomatoes finely chopped 2
- Clove 3-4
- Salt to to taste
- Coriander Leaves chopped 1/2 cup
Cooking Directions
Boil the mince in 2 cups water with 1 whole peeled garlic clove and the bay leaf for 10 minutes.
Strain away the water using a mince strainer.
Finely chop the remaining garlic clove.
Heat the oil in a cooking pot fry the onions until golden brown about 15 minutes.
Add the cinnamon, cloves, cardamoms, ginger and chillies.
Cook for 2 minutes then add the mince and sauté for 5 minutes.
Add the turmeric, cumin and half the all spice powder and sauté for a further 5 minutes stirring time to time.
Add the tomatoes and salt to taste.
Stir fry after adding tomato for a few minutes and then add 1 cup of water and allow the meat to tenderize.
When done add the coriander leaves and the rest of the all spice.
Stir well and cook for 3 minutes or so uncovered.
Serve with roti.
