Recipe for Palak Paneer
Ingredients
- 1/2 kg Spinach
- 1 Onion
- 4 Green chillies
- 3/4 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 200 gms cottage cheese (paneer)
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper powder
- 1/4 tsp Garam Masala Powder
- 2-3 Bay Leaves
- 4 tbsp Butter
- 4 tbsp cream
- 4 tbsp Vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
Cooking Directions
Make fine paste of onion and keep aside
Wash spinach leaves and remove hard stems
Blanch spinach leaves in water and drain
Put blanched spinach and green chillies in a blender and make a fine paste
Now heat vegetable oil in a frying pan
Fry cheeses cubes in it till golden brown and take out
Add onion paste to the same frying pan and sauté for 5 minutes
Add ginger garlic paste to it now
Now add cumin seeds and bay leaves to it
Add the spinach paste and all spices and cook well
Add lemon juice and mix the spinach well
Add fried cottage cheese to the spinach mixture and mix well
Add butter and cook till it separates
Now slow the flame and add cream
Take out palak paneer in serving dish and garnish with some
fried cheese cubes
Serve with hot chapattis or boil rice
