Recipe for Chana Daal
Ingredients
- 1 cup chana daal (Split Yellow Lentils)
- 1 small ginger cut in half
- 1 whole green chili
- 2 tablespoons chopped coriander
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- Oil to fry
- 1 medium chopped onion
- 1 small cinnamon stick
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
Cooking Directions
In a pan add water, ginger and chana daal, let it boil until the daal is soft.**
In another pan, fry the onions till they are golden. Add the chili and then pour it on the daal.
let it boil for 3 minutes then add salt, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala and cinnamon stick. Keep stirring for 2 minutes.
Add the green coriander, let it boil for 2-3 minutes and you are done.
