Recipe for Tomato Masoor Dal
Ingredients
- Tomatoes 100 gms
- Split red lentils (Masoor dal) 100 gms
- Red chillies 2
- Cloves garlic 2
- Ginger 1/2"piece
- Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
- Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
- Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves a few
- Sugar 1/2 tsp
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Oil as needed
- Coriander leaves as required
Cooking Directions
Boil lentils and tomatoes together and cook till tender.
Heat 1 tbsp oil, add mustard and cumin seeds, then turmeric and coriander powders along with broken red chillies.
Put in the tomato and lentils mixture, add sugar and salt to taste.
Boil and remove.
Garnish with coriander leaves. And serve hot with rice
